Book Your Free Tickets
The day is being held in collaboration with Hazel Renouf, trauma informed systems manager from BNSSG ICB and Changing Futures, exploring how organisations are becoming more trauma informed within the multiple disadvantage space.
We will also be hearing from professionals and a lived experience representative who will be discussing what trauma informed working feels like within their space.
We will use an appreciative inquiry approach to explore the question:
What does trauma-informed working really look like in the reality of working with Multiple Disadvantage and what are the steps we're taking to work in this way?
Learning Collective Session 3: The Nelson Trust
The Nelson Trust will discuss their work, sharing their experiences and ideas about setting up a new women’s centre in Bristol.
We hope you can join us on the day to learn more about the women’s centre and to take part in an appreciative inquiry. We will be exploring themes around collaboration and common ground, and asking the question: how can we all use opportunities provided by the new women’s centre to enhance experiences for women facing multiple advantage across Bristol?
No Recourse to Public Funds and Homelessness
How do we support non-UK professionals who are facing homelessness?
No-one should have to live on the streets. Sleeping rough is dangerous and severely impacts on people’s lives and the community around them.
Non-UK nationals are more vulnerable to homelessness, especially if they have restricted or undetermined eligibility to public funds.
Homeless Link and The No Accommodation Network (NACCOM) have conducted research with local authorities, homelessness and immigration stakeholders and people with lived experience of homelessness and restricted eligibility across England. Based on this research, they published a report that puts forward a roadmap for change for local authorities and Government to sustainably tackle homelessness among non-UK nationals with restricted eligibility.
We believe everyone has the capacity to sustain a life away from the streets with the right support and access to services. To make this happen, we need to look beyond statutory duties to operationalise anti-racist, trauma-informed and person-centred principles, as well as ensure that immigration control does not get in the way of good social policy.
This webinar will look at the roadmap proposed by Homeless Link and NACCOM and will give practical examples of how professionals across England can support those with restricted eligibility to public funds who are facing homelessness.
Cross-sector Learning Collective Session: Help When You Need It
The Help When You Need It (HWYNI) team will share their experiences and knowledge in this cross-sector learning session.
We will be exploring themes around collaboration and shared accountability, and asking the question: how can organisations meaningfully serve the clients we share, whilst working within the remits of each of our services?
